Join us each third Wednesday this summer at Habana Outpost.
The Outpost is an ecologically oriented space, and serves the same delicious Latin-inspired cuisine found at Manhattan's Café Habana. As the first Eco-Eatery in New York, the Outpost aims to push the envelope of ecological design while bringing neighbors, environmentalists, artists and families together into one courtyard. Eco-friendly designs and materials, a community market, kid's events, movie nights, educational programs, and local artist exhibitions.
Oscar Teco, Nephew of Alfredo Teco (Café Habana's chef) works his magic from the outdoor food truck while crafting a mouthwatering, Latin-inspired menu including the renowned grilled corn.

That drink you're sipping comes in a biodegradable corn-starch cup. The utensils are made of the same. The plates are crafted from sugar cane. Outpost power is supplemented by solar panels in the courtyard. Most of the lighting is a combination of state-of-the-art, energy efficient, fluorescent technology...and of course the oldest eco-energy source, the sun, which illuminates the world's first sunlit chandelier! Just when you thought patrons were merely innocent bystanders, think again. The fruit smoothie you're holding got smoothed by YOU thanks to the "Bike Blender". Many building materials are made from eco-friendly composites (Trex), natural renewables (sunflower seed, wheat, and vegetable starch) and reclaimed resources.
Hosted by Judy Sandford, Marco Carag, and Eugene Lee.
About Green Drinks
The idea of Green Drinks is simple, and universal: Gather together like-minded individuals, and talk. It’s as familiar as the local dive, completely organic, and a fertile scene for societal progress and the deployment of sustainable ideas. And it’s growing exponentially each month.
This idea thrives here in Brooklyn, USA, thanks largely to a general warm, familial, progressive attitude. “BK” is also host to many of the country’s hippest hangouts, spread to all corners of this huge borough. At BKLYN Green Drinks, we’ll take full advantage of these defining Brooklyn traits as we chase down the blossoming Brooklyn sustainability scene.
You’re an elemental part of this scene — and if you’ve ever chatted it up at a bar before, you’re a veteran at it, too. We have regulars from all parts of the city and visitors from across the country, from students to artists to NGOs, and they’ve all got interesting things to say. It’s free, fun, and as productive as you want it to be, so come have a chat and share an organic pint.
